Anisha was absolutely sweet and fun to work with.  She was also up for whatever I asked her to try, including jumping on a trampoline during her shoot!  She also really knew how to pose and give different looks, all at 14!

Thanks for coming in Anisha, enjoy the preview.

The King twins turn one! (Nashville Children’s Photography) September 21, 2010

These adorable babies are getting so big!!  The King twins, who have graced my business card for some time now, came into the studio with their mom & dad for their one year session.  Talk about activity – these guys are almost walking and are certainly able to move around wherever they’d like to go.  They were alot of fun!  Such different personalities too!

Enjoy the preview,

Mandy

Little Aiden is four months old! (nashville children’s photography) September 16, 2010

Time really does fly and photographing babies through their first year is often what reminds me of that fact the most.  Aiden is adorable and was such a happy baby during the session, I can’t wait to see him in a few months to see just how much he’s changed again.   What an adorable family!

Thanks Christie & Kenny, enjoy the preview!

Crystal & Robert (Nashville Wedding Photography) September 13, 2010

Filed under: Wedding — mandywhitleyphotography @ 3:08 pm

Crystal & Robert are both engineers living in Pennsylvania, planning a wedding in Nashville, which is no easy task.  Their engagement session was preempted by the May flooding, as well as their choice for where to do wedding day photos (Opryland Hotel).  Despite these hurdles their wedding day went beautifully, with the help of their wonderful friends and family as well as the wedding planning services of Creations by Debbie.  Debbie, her husband Don with Events Plus Nashville, & their team did a wonderful job keeping the day running smoothly.

The venue of the wedding and reception was the Marriott Hotel & Resorts which has a fantastic new area built right off the hotel just for special events.  Lindsey, the event coordinator there was great to work with, and the food provided by the hotel was very yummy :)

The couple opted to not see each other before the ceremony and to see Robert’s face as his bride walked down the aisle was priceless – just full of happiness & excitement.  The ceremony was tailored to fit the couple and included the couple jumping the broom as they came back down the aisle after they were married.

The toasts at the reception were so emotional & heartfelt, given by their parents and siblings who were all so very happy to see Robert & Crystal so in love & now married.  They certainly made me tear up too :)  The dance floor was a hoppin’ place helped greatly by the couple’s favorite DJ from Memphis, Rodney “HotRod” Jones.  The cakes were so amazing (both the wedding cake & the groom’s cake), done by The French Confection in the couple’s wedding colors.

A beautiful wedding & a beautiful couple,  thank you Crystal & Robert for letting me share your day with you.    And a big thank you to Anna for second shooting!

Enjoy the preview,

Mandy

Taylor’s Senior Session (Senior Photography) September 8, 2010

Filed under: High School Seniors — mandywhitleyphotography @ 1:29 pm

Taylor’s senior session was so much fun to shoot.  I got to tromp around in knee high plastic boots by ponds and go into gorgeous fields complete with a horse brought by Taylor’s uncle!  So many great spaces, one of my favorite  locations was the old swing set her dad used to play on which still stands by a pond behind her grandparents house.

And let me not forget the beautiful and super sweet subject of the photos!  Taylor did an excellent job with these pictures and brought out all kinds of outfits, boots and jewelry & didn’t care at all about changing on the fly in her car!  She was also fearless about climbing out onto logs in the water (her idea) and generally just rocking it! We had a great time driving around these locations listening to music I was surprised she knew (Funky Cold Medina anyone :)

Thanks Taylor, enjoy the preview!

Meet Skippy! (Nashville Pet Photography) September 8, 2010

Filed under: Pet portraits — mandywhitleyphotography @ 10:13 am

Skippy is another of the wonderful pups up for adoption through Noah’s Ark Society and is actually the current house mate of Neo, who you met a week ago (who is still in need of a home as well).  Skippy is an awesome dog, full of energy and ready to play, but quiet & calm when it’s time for that as well.  He is medium-sized and is 10 months old.  He’s actually been with his foster mom since he was a very small puppy, so he is very used to being with people (as the picture below will tell you).  If you or someone you know is interested in meeting this adorable face please contact me or his foster mom Mawgie at 505-795-3996  or at My Sister’s Closet  during normal business hours at 615-279-0802.

Now for the pictures….I really love this one, I think it truly tells you all you need to know!  And get a load of those ears!
